- Efficient Automation
- Collaborative DevOps Culture
- Structured Assessment
Challenge
The home loan bank company's development team wanted to implement testing automation to increase that capacity and remove the strain from the business owners. The client has previously, on two attempts, tried to stand up a QA testing team without success.
Solution
Wimmer Solutions' core principle is that successful QA programs start with the people. Creating a DevOps culture of collaboration and blameless communication fosters change, a sense of ownership, and high performing teams.
Wimmer Solutions evaluated the client's state of readiness across each key practice and investigated if the right people have the right tools and systems for successful implementation. Wimmer Solutions then built a test automation team starting with a QA Testing Manager and an Automated Testing Engineer. In staggered phases, more resources were added to implement a full scale, dedicated QA program for the client.
Innovation and Impact
The client's extended team at Wimmer helped assess the development team’s backlog, systems, team, and process in place through a structured DevOps environment with the following benefits:
- Enhanced QA Capabilities: Assembling a dedicated QA team, including a QA Testing Manager and Automated Testing Engineer, significantly improved the client’s quality assurance processes.
- Efficient Automation: The introduction of test automation reduced the strain on business owners and increased testing capacity, leading to more efficient development cycles.
- Collaborative DevOps Culture: Establishing a DevOps culture of collaboration and blameless communication fostered a sense of ownership and high performance among the teams.
- Structured Assessment: Wimmer Solutions’ structured assessment of the client’s readiness and existing systems ensured that the right tools and processes were in place for successful QA program implementation.
